Description The Merchant of Venice combines fairytale romance with the tougher issues of justice and mercy, racism and tolerance. A merchant borrows money from a Jewish moneylender to help finance his friend's courtship of an intelligent woman. However, when the merchant's fortunes flag, he must give up a pound of flesh to the moneylender.
