"Oedipus the King" has been called the greatest play ever written. Oedipus, the saviour of Thebes, is humbled in a terrible manner by the gods. Only in "Oedipus at Colonnus", the last play written by Sophocles, does the outcast King find peace and a meaning to existence. Both plays featured in this season |
