Description Arts Minister Peter Garrett today launched the Australian Indigenous Art Triennial: Culture Warriors exhibition at the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center in Washington DC as part of the Australia Presents program of events.The Australia Presents program will showcase some of Australia's finest visual and performing arts from September to December 2009 in Washington DC.
Also part of the Australia Presents program will be performances by the internationally renowned Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) led by Artistic Director, Richard Tognetti, and the Sydney Theatre Company's production of A Streetcar Named Desire featuring Oscar winner, Cate Blanchett.

“The diversity and energy of contemporary Australian arts practice will be on show in Washington DC for the next four months and I am sure that American audiences will be inspired and delighted by the program.”

Australia Presents has been developed by the Embassy of Australia in Washington DC with the assistance of the Australian International Cultural Council and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
