| Description | “Entr’acte’s corporeal theatre is not everyone’s cup of culture. It’s highly eclectic. It’s also very aesthetically and intellectually satisfying.
Those audience members who did not see the distance clearly were looking for quick answers. Better to Entr’acte’s work wash over the senses. There are no answers, only sounds, images and thoughts. The Memory Room is about the strange and inconsistent workings. Of the brain, the fragmentary nature of recollections and impressions. You can’t get a much more abstract theme - or one of greater commonality. Performance centres in, around and on an open-sided cube, with use of flexible one-way mirrors, darkness, light, layers of sounds and strange, wonderful bodily motions by five people with interesting faces and characters. They leave no stone unturned, no tone unturned in their explorations of movement and voice., As they depict memory, they add to it. I won’t forget The Memory Room.” The Advertiser. |
