Description Hollywood comes to rural Ireland, where the locals are hired as extras in a romantic, cliche ridden "Oirish" epic set at the turn of the century. The Kerrymen's delight over the lashings of free food and 40 quid a day for doing virtually nothing gradually turns to resentment, however, of this patronising new form of US imperialism. And the mood turns downright ugly when a troubled teenager commits suicide and it looks as though the film bosses will prevent the locals from attending his funeral.
