Description | Presented as part of the Bath Shakespeare Festival
Australia's only national touring theatre company, The Bell Shakespeare Company, produces uniquely Australian productions of the works of William Shakespeare. In this their first major international tour in the UK, The Bell Shakespeare Company presents Shakespeare’s The Comedy Of Errors with a marvellous sense of farce and fun. Directed by Artistic Director John Bell, and featuring the company’s acclaimed ensemble, this version of the Bard’s hilarious tale of mistaken identity and mayhem will take audiences on a magical ride. Originally produced in 2002 and remounted again in 2004 to extraordinary critical acclaim, this production features six of Bell Shakespeare’s Associate Artists – actors who have worked with the company extensively over its fifteen-year history. The expertise of this group of actors is a key factor in the success of Bell Shakespeare’s work. Fuelled by the cunning tricks of world-renowned illusionist Ross Skiffington and driven by Phillip Johnston’s crazy jazz score, The Bell Shakespeare Company’s The Comedy Of Errors will amaze, as dysfunctional families and suspicious minds caper into a magical, riotous pandemonium of illusion and confusion, before a delightful, calamitous reunion. |
