Description Written 2000 years ago by Seneca, this adaptation of Thyestes by Brendan Cowell is poignantly contemporary.

Thyestes and Atreus are the descendants of Tantalus. Entrusted to share the throne, they have turned against each other. After years of squabbling and in-fighting, Atreus is king and Thyestes is in exile.

When Thyestes is invited by Atreus to return and join him to rule Mycenae, he does so - only to discover that Atreus has planned something so repulsive, it harks back to the very crimes of their ancestor, Tantalus. History has repeated itself.
