| Description | he origin story of this work begins here: Christmas 2019. Co-writer Phillip Kavanagh and I were both resident writers of Melbourne Theatre Company’s NEXT STAGE Writers’ Program, and I found myself tasked for the first time with making Christmas lunch for my husband’s family. In the writers’ room, Phil and I were bouncing around ideas of what I would serve and how I would decorate in the same way we might have bandied around ideas for a play. One thing led to another, and in an almost Dickensian way, one morning Phil awoke from a dream and said, ‘A Christmas Carol, but make it Jewish’.
