Description |
The Cockroach Opera is a loose, colourful tale of the prostitutes, transvestites and thugs who inhabit Jakarta slums - the so-called human cockroaches of life. But beneath its light, deliberately trite story of the transvestite Julini and their search for somewhere to live in the gutters of Jakarta, there is a fierce, bitter critique of power. |
