| Description |
Right outside the theatre is the Northcott Housing Commission estate. The vision for the building was majestic. A kind of utopia. An answer to the trauma of world wars and the depression. Today, however, the estate has become something of a war zone. Still in many ways a strong community, it is also the home of many horrific stories and high drama. Light on the Hill takes simple details from everyday life at Northcott to create a prism through which we glimpse Australia emerging through the struggles, wars, migration and politics of the twentieth century. |
