| Description |
Constance Drinkwater, her two daughters Hope and Fortitude and Father Angelico are the last vestige of civilised society in the rotting colonial outpost of Somerset, far north Queensland. Her husband has disappeared; the cook, the maid and the governess have fled the settlement, and her 5 daughters have died of yellow fever. When two shipwrecked men stumble into Somerset, they trigger the colony's final death knell and the revelation of the awful truth - replete with spears, haunted stones and a cloud of ashes. |
