Description |
The Country Wife, by William Wycherley, is a bawdy and titillating production set in 17th century London. Devious and lecherous man-about-town Mr Horner publicly claims impotence, after an operation in France, as a ruse to make sexual conquests. As a "eunuch" he is granted intimate status with his friends' wives who now believe he is a suitable companion while their husbands are away. |
