| Description |
Combining live performance and video, this new work from the founder of Gravity Feed investigates exposure, disclosure, masking and concealment in both Eastern and Western cultures. What lies underneath all our bland and concealing masks? [Source unsure]
Directed by visual arts/performer Alan Schacher, founder of the infamous Gravity Feed, The Bland Project is a contemporary movement work performed within a video landscape. Taking divergent perspectives on blandness found in Oriental and Occidental cultures, the work explores what the bland mask conceals. Beneath mild, unassuming, inscrutable personas, the performers pit the high refinement of traditional Eastern aesthetics and culture against a Western angst and dissatisfaction. [Source: brochure] |
