| Description |
A play about physical and sexual violence in urban Australia. The action revolves around Spider (John Wood), a psychopath who moves into a group house and begins to terrorise its occupants, setting off a cycle of violent revenge. Western Australian writer Gordon Graham explained:
"What matters to me most about 'Freaks' is its political context; and in that respect 'Freaks' is no distortion at all. The direct political equivalents of the action of the play are with us already, and there are more to come. Watch for Spider at the next elections." |
