Description A play for secondary students about Australian life in the Depression. Narrated in 1991 by the elderly Elizabeth Kidd, it traces three generations of her family while jobs are lost and the family becomes divided
by a quest for sustenance. Innocent childhood pursuits are contrasted against bleak parental anxieties. The paly is set on a crude veranda with
a hint of the Russell Drysdale
about it.
