Description "Loose Connection: 699 1503 is a programme of four short sound works created specifically for the telephone. From 30 May to 30 June Tuesday to Fridays between 10.00am and 6.00pm you can dial-a-sound work on (02) 699 1503 ...Artists from all disciplines and theoreticians are now beginning to recognise that sound, traditionally relegated to the bottom half of the "high" versus "low" cultural debate, is as aesthetically and ideologically complex as fine art - or indeed any other arts practice.
With this programme's paradoxical position within the environments of both the contemporary art gallery and the consumer convenience industry, Loose Connection: 699 1503 raises important questions about the making and reception of art today."
