The winner of the 19th Tasmanian Drama Festival, the Catherine Duncan Cup, was the Launceston Repertory Society with Dumb Waiter. The regional award was not presented. The playwrights award, the Launceston Players Plaque was awarded to Ross J. Murray for Heads or Tails, Or What You Like presented by the Sedryk Players. Fay Trenfield of the Hobart Repertory Society won the Emma Eddinton Trophy.
