Description This installation hybrid of dance, installation, live voice and film is inspired by Australian and New Guinean Indigenous serpent creation stories: the Rainbow Serpent and the Water Snake. (Source: SMH)

Bernadette Walong returns to Sydney with a new dance work inspired by indigenous Australian and New Guinean serpent creation stories--The Rainbow Serpent and Water Snake. 13 years after her groundbreaking collaboration on Bangarra Dance Theatre's Ochres, Walong brings together an all female cast in a mesmerising hybrid of dance, installations, live voice and film. groundUP! draws on the collision of present with past, on birth and destruction, on flight and navigation, encouraging audiences to find contemporary relevance in these stories and myths.
