A pygmalion style drama about a hairdresser's literary quest. At 26 Rita feels she has 'missed out'. She is a hairdresser who feels she 'wants to know about everything'. To that end, she takes an Open University course in English. Her tutor is Frank, soured by many years in the job. Completely overwhelmed by Rita's boundless enthusiasm he sets about 'educating Rita' and learns a lot along the way. |
