Joanna Dudley is The Scorpionfish - a solitary, strikingly strange and unusual species. The Scorpionfish morphs from one creature to another blurring the parameters between the environment, the woman, artificiality and reality. The Scorpionfish sings the beautiful and sentimental kroncong - Javanese pop of the 1960s and a heady mixture of South East Asian, Hawaiian and American croon. The Scorpionfish dances ancient Javanese court dances which had been kept secret for centuries and performed only for the King alone.
