"Metro Street" takes place in present day Melbourne over a period of eight months. It centres on Chris Barnes, a young man on the brink of adulthood and the intersecting lives of his mother and grandmother, his twenty-something Toorak girlfriend, and a girl from the bush, all angling to find their place in metropolitan Melbourne. These five ordinary citysiders discover that to satisfy their need for the extraordinary, they must first find each other. |
