| Description |
"In Elizabethan England, the rebel Earl of Essex commmisions a performance of the banned William Shakespeare play Richard II. It was said this version of the play was a thinly-veiled attack on Queen Elizabeth. He is arrested and executed, but the members of Shakespeatre's company who took part in the production were never censured. Rumours of a set-up have lingered ever since. This idea of a conspiracy froms the basis of the play." |
