Description |
"Krapp's birthday ritual is to make a recording in which he reflects on the state of his existence and on memorable events in his life that year. But before he commits his 69th birthday oration to tape, he plays back segments of what he recorded 30 years earlier, conjuring memories of, among other things, his mother's death and women he has known." |

Further Information |
Samuel Beckett began work on Krapp's Last Tape in 1956 (in English) and it was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre in 1958. Beckett himself later directed the play in Paris and Berlin, revising the text each time. This current production incorporates a number of these
revisions.
