| Description |
The second part of a proposed trilogy of Jewish life that began late last year with 'The
Dybbuk'...the elements this time include the book of Job, the Book of Esther, the mystical writings of a medieval rabbi, and the carnival festival of Purim celebrating the victory of the
Jews over their Persian enemies. Again, it is a tale of slaughter, pogroms and destruction, the victims on this occasion being the 100 Jewish inhabitants of a village in Germany in 1649. |
