Description |
We were told from the outset that everything begins with a story, and with Beyond the Wall of Sleep the story was that of the Book of Genesis parts of which were recounted in the opening sequence and repeated in other sequences throughout the piece. But there was in fact no story in the sense of a chronological narrative. What we got instead were images, sensations, sounds, smells, and half-forgotten, half-remembered ideas...essentially an externalisation of internal states of being. |
