| Description |
Woman in the Wall was a solo performance by Clare Grant (a founding member of the performance troupe, The Sydney Front). The starting point for this work were the lives of several nuns from the 6th to the 16th centuries. The central image however, was the story of the anchorite bricked into her cell within a convent. Notions of seclusion, isolation, enclosure and physical separation from all human contact, seemed to be a fitting theme for a solo performance, with the performer alone on stage and at the scrutiny of her audience.
