Description A site-specific installation performance about
collective amnesia, The Memory Priest uses as its
seed a monotheistic tribal practice from Sumatra.
This tribe would elect one male as its sole authority, responsible for recording personal and collective history. At 30 he would be made to recount all he could recall and then killed. When the next male child born into the tribe came of age history began again. Nothing from before was carried forward. The past was forgotten.
