| Description |
New York, summer, 1971. Everyone is on strike. The garbage is piling up, the heat is stifling, the air-conditioning is freezing, the crime rate is rising and the neighbours are louder than ever. In his simmering inner-urban fourteenth floor apartment on the East Side's Second Avenue, advertising accountant Mel Edison teeters on the edge of losing his job and his sanity. His selfless wife Edna tries to rally the frazzled Mel, but even her well-intentioned in-laws are unable to help - particularly when they discover the cost of the doctor's bills. |
