| Description |
A play for all those who have watched their parents age, who have dealt with parents who are forgetful and stubborn, who repeat themselves and who refuse to acknowledge the reality of their ageing. Gene is a recently widowed university professor. His desire to establish a loving relationship with his sociable father, Tom (who has trouble empathising with Gene's grief), becomes more urgent as Tom's health fails and his emotional and physical needs increase. With his resonant and beautiful writing, Robert Anderson delivers with subtlety and dignity, a clear observation of a family in need. |
