Description Blood Wedding is commonly thought of as the first of Lorca's rural trilogy along with Yerma and The House of Bernarda Alba. The very same trilogy also examines the suppression of women in rural Spain. These two themes, the land, which Lorca loved, and suppression, which he loathed, inspired this production, in particular its design.
