Description "The son of the unhappy Cassidy family is now a young man, has written a successful play and is on tour with it in Perth. The company has just arrived in the empty theatre and the stage director puts them through some of the scenes in preparation for the night's dress rehearsal. But, instead of playing scenes from Joe Cassidy's play, they enact episodes in his traumatic life as a teenager. The play examines the morals and mores of Irish-Australian working class Catholics during the postwar period. It debates the question of identity without God."
