Description |
Bogdan Koca's adaptation of James Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man...Joyce's autobiographical novel traces the early intellectual and moral development of its hero, Stephen Dedalus, depicting how his individuality is stifled by the dictates of Irish nationalism, Catholicism and family life. In Prelude we meet Stephen, his parents, some of his school and university friends and the over-zealous proponents of the Catholic faith...we find in Prelude a half-developed snapshot of the artist-in-the-making. |
