| Description |
A mother of three begins to have sex with her brothers-in-law, while her husband watches, as impassive as stone. Later, the husband invites his wife to become a prostitute, in the same casual way he might ask her to add an item to her shopping list...these are among the maze of artfully misplaced conjunctions that make up The Homecoming, Harold Pinter's theatrical trapdoor to a brutal male underworld, in which women are alternately venerated and despised and in which a pronounced naturalism rubs shoulders with the absurd. |
