| Description |
Renowned artist, animator and director William Kentridge and Handspring Puppet Company (War Horse) combine their powerful visual storytelling forces to create a momentous piece of theatre, laced with a dark and sardonic wit. Drawing on the historical archive of the hearings at South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, as well as Ubu Roi, a licentious buffoon created by the playwright Alfred Jarry, the play provides a glimpse into the devastating complexities of apartheid. |
