Description "A benefit performance to Mrs. and Miss Kennedy whose Family Hotel was destroyed by fire. Fees for artists, hall, and services waived. The Fire Brigade in attendance. Prior to the concert, Mrs. and Miss Kennedy asked for the proceeds to be given to their employees "who were sufferers by the fire", and it [was] decided to comply with this generous wish. The performance was advertised by a procession of New Tivoli Company members in "'costumes fearsome and wonderful to behold," starting at the Theatre at 3 pm on the afternoon of the performance."
