Description |
Act I is SangHawa (Eve). In this harmonious duet Minang men and women interact over property, family, religion and love in the matrilineal Minangkabau culture. Act II, Rantau Berbisik (Whisperings of Exile), is inspired by the Minang men migrating across the archipelago to make their fortune. The full company of dancers takes us inside the plethora of Nasi Padang restaurants and the mysterious, exiled souls who own them. Choreographer Ery Mefri?s work with Nan Jombang is internationally distinguished for exceptional elegance and physical prowess. |
