Description |
As a woman artist from the Kurdish area of Turkey, who has experienced half of her life as a refugee in Norway, Ilgen has a strong understanding of the unique position that is the ?third space?. Working with human hair in her sculptural and performance work, she explores living with Islamic traditions within western culture, asking questions about gender, identity and feminism/s. During LiveWorks she invites audiences to contribute to her installation by participating in a foot-washing, shoe-making ritual. |
