Description |
What makes a saint? How is an australian order of nuns created? Why would a woman set out alone on a journey to Rome, to seek the Pope's sanction for these Australian nuns? The play is framed as Mary MacKillop visits the Pope at the Vatican, in the revolutionary times of Italy's unification. We follow Mary MacKillop's journey through early Melbourne to remote Penola in South Australia, to Brisbane and the gardens of the Vatican. |
