Description CITIZEN X is subtitled "letters from Woomera, Curtin, Port Hedland and Villawood". That exactly what it is. Georgina Naidu, Khalid safi and Saleh Saqqaf recite texts written by those whom we lock up for having the temerity to arrive in Australia without the proper paper work... the production is spare and direct and there is a white-hot rage beneath the coolness and clarity of this work. It's rough direct and very urgent as the cast performs the words of detainees and one horrified nurse from behind a deeply ironic picket fence.
