Description Set in ancient Rome, this play is the story of Plautus, incorporating his bawdy play 'The Swaggering Soldier (written in 196BC) within the script....This is Wiliamson's first non-contemporary work, but he manages to include modern issues in the script....Gender equality, class structure, marriage problems and social hierarchy are prevalent themes within this play, and parallels are drawn between ancient Rome and modern-day America.
