| Description |
NZ premieres of three larger-than-life contemporary classics that showcase the energy, precision and charisma of NZ's national ballet company. Andonis Foniadakis's Selon Désir inspired by opening choruses of the St John and St Matthew Passions (Geneva Ballet 2004); William Forsythe's In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated (Paris Opéra Ballet, 1987) - described as 'the work that changed ballet for ever'; Alexander Ekman's Cacti (The Hague, 2010) combines daredevil virtuosity and split second timing with a playful wit. |
