THE ADMIRABLE CRICHTON, Chief Butler to the Earl of Loam, strongly objects to the latter's Socialistic tendencies, such as inviting all his servants once a month to afternoon tea in the drawing room, and waited upon by his three titled daughters. It upset the butler's status as the Aristocrat of the Servants' Hail. A subsequent yachting cruise reveals the Earl, family, and few friends, together with the 'Admirable Crichton,' wrecked UPON AN UNINHABITED ISLAND. Positions are reversed. Crichton being a born handy man, by sheer force of circumstances assumes the ascendancy. He becomes a veritable King, is called ' Guv' by the Earl and others who do the menial work; Lady Mary, the eldest daughter, falls in love with him, AND EVERYONE TREMBLES AT HIS WORD … |
