Description Set in 19th century Wellington, and described in the programme as 'Stephen Sinclair's stirring revenge tragedy'. The plot has all the ingredients of a melodrama: a handsome smuggler who is master of the Alhambra sails into Wellington Harbour, picks up where he left off with the recently widowed proprietress of The Star and Garter, and then coldly seduces and discards her daughter, to the consternation of the daughter's [Maori] lover.
