Description Marae is a new stage production commissioned to premier at the 1992 Festival. It is a wonderfully uplifting, moving and often hilarious journey, though the fusion of Pakeha and Maori lifestyles. The characters in Marae are people that we all know; passionate, challenging and caring. Marae is a celebration of the music that has been at the centre of the contemporary New Zealand show business scene over the last twenty years. This experience will take you inside the heart, not only of the people, but also the wairua (spirit) of the oldest home in our country, Marae.
