| Description |
“It is unfortunate that in these days there appear to be no causes left; very much as it seemed to Jimmy Porter and his contemporaries in post world war Europe. With the invasion of Hungary in 1956 (when “Look Back in Anger” was written), the ‘angry young man’ felt that there was no hope after all and it appeared that there was no difference between a fascist and a socialist. The parallels between Hungary in 1956 and China in 1989 show us that history, unfortunately, repeats itself”. |
