Sydney University Dramatic Society won the Fay Compton Cup for the best group performance with May Hollinworth's production of Henrietta Drake-Brockman's Australian play, "The Blister." Jane Holland won for her acting as Mary in Arthur Symons's "The Harvesters," the Harry Tighe Cup for the best performance by an actress. Adjudicator Atholl Fleming gave her particular credit for her work. Edgar Yardley was awarded the Norman Maxwell Cup for the best performance by an actor. This was the first time that the Maxwell Cup, in memory of a well-known repertory player who died last year, was presented. |
