Description ACT 3 International presents, as its second production for this year in the Children’s Theatre Season in KL, an outstanding theatre performance from Australia.

LILY CAN’T SLEEP, a Queensland Theatre Company production, is playing at the KLPac from May 16 – to 20th. It is a comic drama that explores concepts of change and dealing with anxiety in a light-hearted way, through the eyes of a child.

Lily is our main character in the story. The story unfolds as night falls and Lily, whose family has just moved house, tries to go to sleep. With the challenges of change, including being in a new house, in a new room and starting at a new school, Lily has lots on her mind. It is no wonder she cannot get back to sleep. Her mum tells her to count sheep but what good is that when one of them is running amok in her bedroom?!

LILY CAN’T SLEEP is an endearing work that draws upon physical theatre, clowning, puppetry, music and dramatic performance. Children will enjoy the visual imagery and audience participation elements.

This hilarious and sweet performance also explores how we can dream up ways to put what is worrying us to bed.

LILY CAN’T SLEEP is written by Bridget Boyle and Liz Skitch with David Megarrity, directed by Scott Witt, and features the colourful work of accomplished designer Jonathon Oxlade. Originally produced for Queensland Performing Arts Centre 2006 Out of the Box Festival and Queensland Theatre Company, this tour of Malaysia and Singapore is assisted by the Arts Queensland and the Australia Council.
