Comprising three brothers and a sister from Chicago, the Ying Quartet won the International Cleveland Quartet Competition in 1989, made its New York debut at the Lincoln Centre in 1991 and was awarded the Naumberg Chamber Music Award in 1991. Phillipe Cassard is one of the most acclaimed new generation of brilliant young French pianists. In 1994 he toured Australia with Quatuor Ysaye for Musica Viva Australia, and returned in 1995 as a jury member of the Second Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. |
