Description Blue Moon surveys the history of a song, 'Blue Moon' recorded for the first time in 1930's. The song became a standard, enjoying enormous popularity throughout the next 30yrs. Consequently it reflects the various changes in musical styles and tastes and the social contexts which surrounded them. The recordings used in the piece represented only a very small number of those which can still be heard.
