| Notes | The first opera house in Wellington. Built in 1878 by the Te Aro Theatre and Public Hall Company at 71-77 Manners Street. Architect Thomas Turnbull. Destroyed by fire in June 1879. Another theatre and opera house was built on the same site in 1886-1888 [Te Aro Theatre and Opera House] and then another from 1888-1914 [Wellington Opera House]. | |
